How I prefer to commission1. Due date
Unless otherwise agreed ahead of time, the due date for delivery is within the PayPal refund time limit: 45 days.
If you feel unable to complete within that, we'll have to work on an instalment basis
If I'm somehow responsible for the delay, at least we'll add my delay to the due date, and may negotiate more.
2. Payment method
I prefer to use PayPal. I do not use 'family and friends' unless I know you well: I don't particularly mind sending a little extra to cover whatever their fee is.
If I pay before you deliver, you agree to hold that money in trust - not to spend it - and to give me some sense that things are still on course: a commission queue in an FA journal or otherwise on the web that i can see updating, weekly emails, etc. If you have an emergency, tell me as soon as you reasonably can: an email/journal saying 'broke my wrist, sorry - all commissions will be delayed by 5 months' is immeasurably better than going silent.
If I pay after you deliver, we can negotiate what your requirements are for remaining in contact, but I will earmark your monies and make sure they're available immediately on delivery.
3. General
Folks seem to find it helpful if i mention that otters and martens, and other weasels, tend to have distinctly cylindrical skulls rather than the more spherical ones most creatures have, so if you see them face-on, the features tend to be quite gathered due to foreshortening, but from the side, the nose and ears are usually about equally spaced from the eyes, though the straight line of nose-eye-ear still generally holds.
My favourite sort of anthropomorphisation is 'realistic animal' where the character's limbs have the animal species proportions relative to body length, and paws still look like paws even if they have thumbs. |

Commissioning me(!)I would be astonished if anyone wanted to commission me, at my art levels, but stranger things have happened.
Just at the moment I'm a new father, so my spare time is very limited and you'd likely have to pay an eye-wateringly large amount to get anything out of me, but while it would be over $10, it wouldn't be over $1m, so there's a number between those two extremes.
It's unlikely I'd draw anything naughtier than boobs, and I'm not even a big fan of nipples. Suggestively censored is probably OK. |
