I'm GearRyu; author of stories and roleplaying character profiles. I'm currently available for writing commissions. Below, you'll find all the details about my commissions.
What are you willing to write?
I am comfortable working with a variety of themes. I am best known for my work with transformations, such as Age Regression or Gender Transformation. However, I also enjoy working with other themes, whether or not they involve kinks and fetishes.
How do you determine the length of the story?
I may recommend a word count based on your desires, but you have final say on the maximum length of the work. Word count is based on the number of words as defined by the default settings of Microsoft Office Word 2007, and may include meta-text, such as collapsible headers.
Roleplaying character profiles: 500+ words
Flash fiction: Stories up to 1000 words
Short stories: 1000 - 10,000 words
Longer works: 10,000+ words
A single page is roughly 250 words.
How much will the commission cost?
I charge two cents per word. Payment is based on the word count of the final draft.
How long until I receive a final draft of the commission?
The time required to complete the commission depends on the length of the work. Estimate one week for each 1000 words. For example, a 2000 word commission would take two weeks. Commissions may be completed earlier; if commission is expected to be delayed by more than one week, then I will notify you.
When should I send payment?
Final payment must be received before I will release the final draft to you.
Who controls which aspects of the work?
The content of the work will be based on your desires as the commissioner. As the commissioner, you control the technical constraints of the writing: you have say over what kind of material you want included or excluded from the work. However, I, as author, have ultimate control over the creative expression of the material you want included, and may extrapolate from your guidelines in developing more content.
Any technical constraints must be received either 1) by the time any payment is received; or 2) at a time requested by myself - whichever comes first. This is to ensure a meeting of minds regarding the final product.
What if I am unhappy with the final draft?
If you are not satisfied with the final draft, you may request minor alterations to the final product. I do not charge for minor alterations.
Any major alterations to the final draft are at my discretion, and require an additional payment of 10% of the final word count. The difference between minor and major alterations is entirely based on my subjective opinion.
Can I get a preview of the work?
Of course! Before I receive final payment, you may elect to receive a preview of up to 10% of the maximum word count. If you are not satisfied with the preview, you may request alterations to the previewed work. Once you are satisfied with the previewed work, you must pay a down payment for the previewed work (at the standard rate of 2 cents per word) before I continue writing the rest of the work.
Can I make payments over time?
Sure! You may elect to divide the work into chapters, in which case payment for the latest chapter must be received before I begin work on the next chapter. If you elect for a preview in this case, then the preview is 10% of the latest chapter.
Who has ownership of the work?
The work itself belongs to me. However, you may retain a private copy of the work; and post the work to your personal profile on this site. If you post the work, you must give credit to myself ("GearRyu") as author. If you wish to post the work somewhere other than explicitly permitted, you must receive my permission.
You retain copyright to anything to which you already had copyright. For example, if you own a character that you have feature in one of my works, then you still own the character, even though I own the work you commissioned from me.
Payments/How to Commission Me
To commission me, send me a note explaining the type of work you are hoping for. Payments are made through PayPal. I will provide you with the account's payment address once we settle on the details of the commission.
