General InfoSome ground rules first...
1.) Unless you're a regular commissioner, I typically ask for 1/2 payment upfront.
There's an exception for larger commissions, such as full-scale paintings, where there's room for feedback and corrections along the way: in such case, I'll ask for the 1/2 payment approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of the way through the work, roughly when the piece is "established" (i.e., we're settled on what exactly you want, and there's no more major changes to be made).
2.) There are some things I absolutely will NOT draw...
Snuff/ Gore/ Torture,
Vore,
Underage/ Cub/ Pedo,
Water sports/ Diapers/ Scat/ Unsanitary,
Weight-Gain/ Inflation (some cumflation is fine, but there is a limit)

3.) "Exposure" does not suffice as payment.
I think that's fairly self-explanatory, but allow me to elaborate.
Sometimes, people will approach me for a commission. But instead of paying money, they insist that just getting my name out there (by doing more free work for others, namely themselves) is payment enough. Let me be clear: those are called requests. They are not the same as a paid commission! Requests are generally reserved for friends, or people I'm on good terms with, and almost always take a back-seat to actual paid work. Sometimes, I'll do them for fun when I'm in the mood, but that's pretty rare.
Now, there's no harm in placing a request, but there's no guarantee that I'll accept, or that it'll be done in any kind of a timely manner. DO NOT confuse the difference between request and commissions!
4.) Please be polite.
I have a pretty broad tolerance range for personality types, but some wear me thin a bit... namely those who abuse authority, or act as if I owe them something just for being granted "the honor of doing a commission for them." While that won't result in termination of a commission after it's already started, it will likely mean refusing to work with you in the future.
5.) Pornographic Surchage
I charge an extra +$10 for NSFW content. I love drawing porn, but it generally increases how much time & effort is required, too. Additionally, it doesn't appeal to as broad an audience as "regular" SFW content does, which means less exposure via my own work for me! |
